Jed Leano
Claremont Mayor Pro Tem Jed Leano is as a Claremont city councilmember running for CA Assembly District 41.
Jed Leano has been a member of the Claremont City Council since 2018, serving as chair of the San Gabriel Valley Regional Housing Trust Board, vice chair of Tri-City Mental Health Board, and Claremont's representative to the San Gabriel Valley Council of Governments (SGV COG) homelessness committee. In 2019, Jed was named Democrat of the Year for the 41st Assembly District by the LA County Democratic Party.
As a community leader and passionate member of the AAPI community, Jed spoke at Claremont's vigil in solidarity against Asian hate, featured on KCAL 9 nightly news. Jed has written numerous op-eds in the Claremont Courier and has hosted and been a guest on multiple podcasts.
Jed earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Kentucky in 2001, and his Juris Doctor from Rutgers Law School in 2005. He and his wife Liz have one son, Welles.
