Michael Blake is the founding CEO of KAIROS, created to seize economic opportunities long overdue for Black and Brown communities and ignite a transformation toward a more equitable and inclusive world. Through both coordinated events and less-structured virtual conversations, KAIROS participants regularly share best practices for achieving equity-focused goals, celebrate accomplishments and challenge one another to continue uplifting those systematically excluded by capitalism.
Its most recent initiative, KAIROS: Democracy Project, was created to mobilize and engage young voters and voters of color by centering issue advocacy and amplifying the benefits of democracy on daily life.
Michael is also the founder and CEO of Atlas Strategy Group, an inaugural Democracy Scholar at the DuBois Freedom Center and a former New York assembly member and vice chair of the Democratic National Committee. He is also president of Next Level Sports and Entertainment, the only Black-owned national sports network in U.S. history.
As an aide to President Barack Obama, Michael created the White House Urban Entrepreneurship series and brought Obama’s “My Brother’s Keeper” to his home state to support young men of color. He is a proud graduate of Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism and a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Inc.
