Natalie Murdock
Natalie is a dedicated public servant, experienced public speaker and advocate for North Carolinians.
Natalie S. Murdock represents the 20th District in the North Carolina Senate. Elected in 2020, she became the first black woman under 40 to serve in the state's upper chamber. She comes from a long history of dedicated advocates, including her grandmother, whose name is etched into the Greensboro Civil Rights Museum for participating in the march with the Woolworth Four in the fight for equal rights for Black Americans. Following in her family's footsteps, Natalie has dedicated herself to bettering the lives of every North Carolinian.
Before serving the 20th District, Natalie was a small business owner, founding Attal Strategies. As principal and chief strategist, she focused on building bridges and strategic partnerships between minority and rural communities with government agencies, nonprofits and private corporations.
Natalie also served as the traveling press secretary for Deborah Ross' U.S. Senate campaign and as director of marketing and communications for GoTriangle, a regional transit agency. After graduating from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, she worked with Chris Kromm at the Institute for Southern Studies in Durham.
